International Sports Summit Kerala – 2024

Department of Sports & Youth Affairs organized an International Sports Summit Kerala 2024, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at creating a thriving sports ecosystem within our state. This esteemed four day event was held from 23rd to 26th January, 2024 at Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. The Summit brings together sports luminaries, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from around the world to explore the fusion of sports and economy.

Day 1 – 23/1/24
The Day 1 of the Summit has been officially started with the Inauguration of the Summit. The Summit has been officially inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan in the presence of Hon’ble Sports Minister Shri. V. Abdurahiman ,Hon’ble Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Shri. A.N. Shamseer and other Ministers of the State. As part of this, various projects worth more than a total of 2000cr has been announced. Day 1 of Issk 2024 has been made more spectacular by many other programmes such as a Mega Cultural Fusion by Dr Rajashree Warrier & Shri. Prakash Ulliyeri and by Chemeen Music Band.

Day 2 : 24/1/24
The Day 2 of ISSK – 2024 was carried out successfully with maximum number of participants in each events. The main highlights of the day were the seminar sessions on different topics such as “Sports Economy”, “Sports Industry”,”AI in Sports,Esports & Technology”,”Indigenous Sports and Tourism” and the Investors Meet. The sessions were presented by various Ministers such as Shri. K. N. Balagopal(Hon’ble Minister for Finance), Shri. P. Rajeev (Hon’ble Minister for Industries), Shri. K. Rajan(Hon’ble Minister for Revenue) & Shri. P. A. Mohammed Riyas(Hon’ble Minister for Tourism) and many other dignitaries like Shri. Navas Meeran(President KFA), Shri. Rajesh Kharabanda(CEO, Nivia Sports), & Shri. Rakesh Rajeev(CEO,Hyve Sports). This was accompanied by many other programmes such as “Startup Showcase” and other enteraintment events performed by Music Band – Almaram and “Sports Film Festival”.

Day 3 : 25/1/24
The Day 3 of ISSK – 2024 was carried out successfully with maximum number of participants in each events. The main highlights of the day were the seminar sessions on different topics such as “Sustainable Sports Development”, “Lesson from the Leagues”,”Grassroot Sports Development”,”Sports Excellence,Engineering,Management and Technology”,”Wellness in Focus”. The sessions were presented by various Ministers such as Shri. M. B. Rajesh (Hon’ble Minister for LSGD), Smt. R. Bindhu (Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education), Smt. Veena George (Hon’ble Minister for Health) and many other dignitaries like Dr. Joy Elamon (Director General,KILA),Smt. Renjini Liza Varghese (CEO,Write Canvas), Shri. Takuui Kinoshita(President, CANAAN International Education Academy), Shri. Julio Gonzalez Ronco (Real Madrid Foundation Managing Director), Shri. Partha Acharya (Sports Journalist, MD, PR Solution), Shri. Jimmy Alexander Lidberg (Olympic Medalist,Wrestler), Shri. Mark Arthur King (Professor, Loughborough University) and Shri. Kamyar Vatankhater (Sports Business Management Expert- Iran) . This was accompanied by many other programmes such as “Sports Community Networking & Gala Dinner” and other enteraintment events performed by Music Bands.

Day 4 : 26/1/24
The Day 4 of ISSK – 2024 was carried out successfully with maximum number of participants in each events. The main highlights of the day were the seminar sessions on different topics such as “Learn from the Legends”, “Academies and High Performance Centres”,”Train the Trainers”,”Media, Broadcast and Streaming”. The sessions were presented by various Ministers such as Shri. V. Abdurahiman (Hon’ble Minister for Sports), Shri. V. Sivankutty (Hon’ble Minister for General Education), Smt. J. Chinchu Rani (Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry) and many other dignitaries like Smt. Geethu Anna Jose, Shri. I. M. Vijayan, Shri. Kishor Kumar, Shri. C. K. Vineeth, Shri. Alberto Lecandela (Technical Director,AC Milan), Shri. Miguel Gonzalez Larsson (Former Real Madrid Player) and Shri. Paul Wozney (Global Football Development Manager,Bolton Wanderers FC) . This was accompanied by many other programmes such as the “AutoCross Championship”.

AutoCross Championship: The AutoCross Championship was organized as part of the International Sports Summit of Kerala- 2024.

K Walk (Jan 22nd, 4pm – 9pm): The K Walk was organized as part of the International Sports Summit Kerala ,2024 on January 22nd from 4pm to 9pm.

Sports Film Festival: The Sports Film Festival was organized as part of the International Sports Summit of Kerala showcasing different sports film during the summit.

Tour De Kerala Cyclothon (Jan 11- 23): The Tour de Kerala Cyclothon was organized as part of the International Sports Summit of Kerala to strengthen the potential of our sports sector globally and make Kerala a sports superpower. The Event is organized across the entire state that is from Kasaragod to Thiruvanathapuram from January 11th – 23rd, 2024
